Installation
The installation instructions for the Hops Cave provide a clear DIY guide. Here’s a brief breakdown to simplify the steps:
Installation Process:
-
Digging the Hole:
- Dig a hole 20 cm wide and 95 cm deep.
- It’s recommended to use an auger for this.
- Ensure no underground cables are present before starting.
- Choose a shaded spot for better cooling.
-
Placing the Tube:
- Insert the stable cladding tube into the hole.
- The tube has a watertight bottom and flotation control to prevent it from rising due to high water levels.
- Fill the rest of the hole with soil and wash it in with water to stabilize the tube.
-
Adding Beverages:
- Fill the beverage holder with up to 15 bottles (up to 0.5L each).
- Lower the holder into the tube.
- For the Hops Cave Lift version, insert the lift, place the holder onto the damper, push it down, and lock it by pushing and turning.
Putting it into Operation:
-
Closing the Hops Cave:
- Place the thermally insulated UV-resistant lid on top.
- Ensure the sealing ring is properly in place to prevent vermin or water from entering.
- Insert the valve lid and secure it tightly.
-
Using and Maintaining:
- The Hops Cave lid is strong enough to mow over once sealed.
- To open, remove the valve lid before the main lid for easy access.
Once installed, the Hops Cave should remain firmly in the ground and ready to cool your beverages!
